Right next to the hotel we were staying at, this restaurant was a great place to eat at while waiting for check in. The menu has everything you would want to eat at a diner plus Mediterranean dishes. We went around 2:30 and it wasn't too busy and we were able to sit immediately. The service was great.
We started off with the mozzarella sticks (moon shaped not sticks) that were crispy and fresh!
For those on a keto diet they were more than welcome to alter the menu to stick to one's diet.
I had the gyro and fries. It was very good and crispy. Especially the fries. -

I have been a frequent patron of The Greek Olive for two and half years now and am sad to write that the quality of food and staff has gone down. This afternoon, I placed a phone order for The Food Terminal which is supposed to come sandwiched between pita bread with little falafel patties, lettuce, tomato, and tahini sauce. I've gotten it many times previously.
I was told 15 minutes, but it ended up taking closer to 40. I wouldn't mind except this has been happening more frequently and makes running to this place on your lunch break inconvenient and unpredictable.
I finally get back to my office to scarf down my lunch with my short remaining time and find that my order is just plain wrong. I was given one luke-warm veggie pattie on a hamburger bun with lettuce, tomato, and no sauce at all. I ended up spending over $10 to eat fries and waste my entire lunch break. It doesn't seem like they mixed up my order, rather hastily threw together a sandwich that wasn't even close to what it was supposed to be.
I'm disappointed because their food used to be delicious. Sadly, I will no longer be visiting this restaurant. Save your time and money and look for food elsewhere! -

Very traditional greek diner. The staff was very friendly and was very nice to the kids! I had the gyro plate with greek salad and was absolutely delicious! Would visit again when in New Haven!

On a trip north we stayed at the adjacent hotel. Found the food here much better than expected. I ordered the Frutti Di Mari and they modified it to my liking. Overall very happy. Don't hesitate to try.

This is one experience that I truly wish I could write a negative star review.
So we faxed in the order at 11:15AM timestamped and confirmed. We arrive at 12:15PM and the food was not ready and were just told that "it's lunch" and "it's very busy" -- meanwhile orders aplenty that were made in front of us (and subsequently fulfilled) came and went.
Come 12:45PM the order is finally done and I get to head back and eat my lunch in 15min (as did all of our staff).
Here's the real kicker: they counted the items and "verified" that we got everything. Unfortunately, when we arrived in the office we were missing an item and had to call and get it delivered. What in the freaking heck!
I literally live for lunch. When I go to work in the morning, I think to myself, "what glorious treat am I going to have today after my hard AM work??" -- and today my hopes and dreams were dashed to the ground. Not only did I have almost no time to eat. I felt like I could've made my sandwich 10x better for half the price.
No bueno. Never shall I return to the olive that is Greek.
